About Me

My favorite color is purple and I love to figure skate! I was born and raised in Montana, so I like most anything related to cold weather, really, because I love winter. In my spare time, I like to play with my cat, Benz, and plant flowers and herbs.

Classroom Experiences

I started teaching preschool because it is something I always wanted to do. I want to make a difference in a child's life. I want to be a stable, constant presence and I want to spread joy and encouragement.

Since I've been at Calvary Preschool, I have worked in the Jr. Preschool (2's) and this year with the three year olds. They are always so excited to be at school and to learn. They bring me a lot of joy and I look forward to the time we spend reading stories, doing music and movement. We are silly together and I love that!

My favorite part about teaching is seeing the smiles on the kids' faces and hearing their giggles. I love that every day is new and exciting and even though we have a lesson plan, it never goes 100% according to plan because kids bring lots of unexpected moments into the day, and I enjoy that!

A Favorite Memory and a Moment of Fun

I don't have one specific 'favorite' memory. I appreciate how honest kids are. One time, I wore my very curly black hair down (I often wear it up in a bun),and a child told me I looked like Maui from Moana. Ironically, another child thought I looked like Moana because I wore my hair in a bun. I've even been told I look like the little girl on the kids' Chapel shirt. I guess the kids really notice my hair--haha!
